Financing Social Impact Entertainment

The Skoll Center for SIE in collaboration with the Producers Guild of America’s Social Impact Entertainment Task Force hosted a “Financing Social Impact Entertainment” event on September 21, 2019.

This exciting morning of panel discussions focused on financing social impact projects in documentary, narrative film, TV, and emerging forms, with topics including equity impact investors, nonprofits and grants, tax credits and rebates, public-private partnerships, and more. This free event provided over 200 attendees with an in depth and informative crash course in taking their social impact projects to the next level.

After a brief introduction on the landscape of social impact entertainment, as well as a helpful overview of financing sources and terminology, the day was broken down into two panels:

Non-profits, Grants, and Documentaries
