The Feeling Through Experience

The Feeling Through Experience is a fully accessible 90-minute, 3-part event that includes the short film Feeling Through, the first film starring a DeafBlind actor. It is accompanied by a documentary about the making of the film and a panel discussion with filmmaker, Doug Roland and DeafBlind actor, Robert Tarango.

Since the films’ completion, The Feeling Through Experience has been touring the country, moving and inspiring audiences along the way with its message of human connection. The Skoll Center is proud to be hosting the Los Angeles premiere of this incredible event on February 19th, 2020.

The Feeling Through Experience was created in partnership with the Helen Keller National Center to entertain, inform and connect. It includes:

Feeling Through (18 mins)
The first ever film starring a DeafBlind actor: About the unlikely connection between a teen in need and a DeafBlind man, and ultimately how our capacity to connect transcends our differences.

Connecting the Dots (24 mins)
The behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of Feeling Through and the search for the DeafBlind man who inspired it.

Panel discussion/Q&A (45 mins)
With filmmaker, Doug Roland, and DeafBlind actor, Robert Tarango

Through the power of storytelling, The Feeling Through Experience promotes DeafBlind awareness, accessibility advocacy, and authentic DeafBlind representation in media.
